About

Trout River NZ

Bringing game-changing trailer technology to the New Zealand trucking industry, Trout River NZ have been designing, building and fitting live bottom trailers, rigid trucks and attachments since 2014.

New Zealand's first live bottom manufacturers, Trout River NZ produce customised trailers for construction, transport, agriculture and many other industries around the country. Offering local knowledge, service and support to every one of our customers, we know how to build for your conditions - designing every aspect to work for Kiwi contractors, including lightest class tare weights.

Putting decades of real industry knowledge and experience into every trailer, our track record speaks for itself - Trout River NZ trailers have proven their ability to out-perform and outlast competitors, while enduring the worst that New Zealand roads, sites and farms can offer.

Based in Dunedin, Otago, Trout River NZ are the exclusive licensees of Trout River technology.

The Trout River brand

A global brand known for innovation and the exceptional performance of its products, Trout River was established in Canada in 1999.

Growing their manufacturing franchise through Europe, Australasia and the Middle East, the company has emerged as acknowledged leaders in live bottom design and production - offering ground-breaking technology to the trucking industry, through licensee parters around the world.

Here at Trout River NZ, we are excited to be introducing these revolutionary designs to New Zealand, and proud to be manufacturing them right here.

Team

Corey Reid

Director

Commencing his apprenticeship as a fabrication engineer with Zeal Steel in 2000, Corey moved to Fulton Hogan in 2007 where he took on a heavy fabricator role. The work gave him experience working on a huge range of plant, from bitumen tankers and bitutainers to crushing plant maintenance and general refurbishment work - exactly the breadth of expertise he needed to create industry leading Trout River products.

Safer

VIRTUALLY ELIMINATE TIP OVERS

Because live bottoms are fixed in place, they're completely stable and incredibly safe – they don't tip, so they almost never tip over.

Faster

GET IN, DROP IT, LEAVE.

No raising beds means it's quicker to discharge your load, while the live bottom gives you direct access to the most challenging locations: under trees, power lines, low structures, indoors and off-level sites.

Stronger

OUR TRAILERS KEEP GOING.

Designed for Canadian and Outback extremes, then customized for Kiwi conditions, Trout River live bottoms are rugged and proven to perform.

More Control

FOR TOTAL PRECISION.

Live bottom technology lets you unload as much as you want – wherever you want – meaning your load goes exactly where you need it, and nowhere else.

More Versatile

USE IT FOR EVERYTHING.

Unlike bottom dump or side-dump trailers, live bottoms do everything a tipping deck can – with a huge range of attachments to let you accomplish so much more.

Bigger Loads

IT'S SAFER TO DO MORE

Offering a much lower permanent centre of gravity, live bottoms let you haul more load without fear of tipping, meaning you can work faster, more safely.

More Efficient

GAIN MORE, LOSE LESS.

The combination of precision, safety and versatility means live bottoms spend less time off the road, with less wasted load, on more jobs, more often.
